Propshafts

Neapco offers a wide range of propshafts and driveshafts for many applications, including automotive, light vehicle, and commercial vehicles. • Multi-piece propshaft. Neapco’s line of 2- and 3-piece propshafts and driveshafts are designed for vehicles with extended wheelbases. These feature an innovative slip function that can be incorporated into a slip-in tube design and a center bearing assembly. Its unitized design eliminates the drawbacks of conventional slip-thru-center bearing designs, including stack-up, run-out, imbalance, and spline interface.
• Slip-in-tube propshaft. Neapco has developed slip-in-tube propshafts and driveshafts specially designed for fixed flange configurations at both the transmission and axle ends. While conventional slip-between-center designs use a slip and stud yoke welded to the tube as a slip mechanism, Neapco's slip-in-tube propshaft is manufactured using an innovative spline forming process. This process integrates the traditional slip mechanism to the tube, allowing it to transmit torque while functioning as a slip mechanism that accommodates suspension travel.

With a reduced part count, Neapco's slip-in-tube propshafts and driveshafts offer lighter and more cost-effective solutions. Customers can also choose from steel and aluminum models, which offer even more weight savings without compromising durability.

Half shafts

With a production capacity of 6 million units per year, Neapco is the world’s biggest manufacturer of half shafts for motor vehicles. The Neapco half shaft is designed for maximum torsional strength, reduced weight, and optimum stiffness for front- and rear-wheel drive vehicles. Its state-of-the-art CAE CV joints and trilobe-shaped tripod joints significantly reduce weight and rotational inertia, while high-grade steel shafts offer maximum stiffness without adding additional weight. Integrated linkshafts also ensure optimum driveline stiffness and steering response. Each half shaft is also fitted with synthetic polymer boots, which are more durable and offer better heat and chemical resistance than traditional rubber boots.

U-Joints

Neapco offers a wide range of universal joints for domestic and imported light to heavy duty vehicles, including trucks, buses, RVs, construction vehicles, agricultural tractors, and so much more. Each Neapco U-joint is engineered for a seamless fit, easy maintenance, and performance matching that of its OEM counterpart. All U-joints are designed in-house in its US facility according to exacting specifications to ensure optimum fitment and strength and longer joint life.

• Performance U-joints. The next generation of universal joints in the market, Neapco’s performance grade U-joints outperform the competition in strength and fatigue tests. Its unique journal/spider body configuration is designed to provide smooth transitions, resulting in less stress across the joint body. An enhanced thrust washer design generates less heat and friction and is coated with a low-friction additive that minimizes stick-slip. All Neapco performance-grade U-joints are also lubricated with Neapco’s Ultra-Performance universal joint grease for superior durability, wear resistance, and stability in various temperature ranges.
• OE U-joints. Neapco OE-grade U-joints are designed to comply with OEM manufacturer specifications strictly. Their cold-formed solid high-strength journal provides superior strength under load, while precision step ground shoulder combines with a micro finish sealing system to eliminate stress riser points and keep contaminants out. These U-joints are also lubricated for life, reducing maintenance costs and downtime in the long run.
• Genuine U-joints. Genuine Neapco aftermarket U-joints are precision machined to tight tolerances to increase durability and prevent premature failure. These have undergone advanced case hardening and heat treatment to improve joint strength, while long-life seals are designed to resist heat and contaminants. Zerk grease fittings strategically located across the joint body also allow for ease of lubrication.

Center Bearings

Neapco offers a diverse selection of driveshaft center bearings for domestic and passenger cars and medium to heavy duty trucks. These bearings are designed and manufactured for specific application requirements to achieve optimum driveshaft alignment and support. Each Neapco bearing is pre-lubricated for life and sealed with metal reinforced seals to prevent contamination. Support cushions are made of high-quality rubber for maximum vibration isolation of the driveline.

Yokes

Neapco has an extensive lineup of slip yokes, end yokes, flange yokes, and yoke shafts for a wide range of vehicle applications. The yokes are manufactured from forged steel alloys and ductile castings for increased strength while broaching operations ensure forms have a seamless fit with reduced end play. All of these processes result in perfectly balanced yokes that, in turn, lead to vibration-free driveshaft operation.
