Interstate-McBee Air and Fuel Delivery Parts
About Interstate-McBee
Serving the heavy duty diesel and natural gas industries for over 70 years, Interstate-McBee is a global manufacturer and supplier of engine parts, fuel injection components, and gaskets. It was founded in 1947 as Interstate Diesel Service, a remanufacturer of Detroit Diesel fuel injectors. Three years after its inception, it ventured into fuel injection parts manufacturing, working closely with renowned Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Allis-Chalmers®, Diamond Rio®, International Harvester®, GMC Truck & Coach®, and White Motors®.
Aside from fuel injection components, Interstate-McBee also supplied replacement engine parts for Cummins engine applications in the 1970s. It then expanded its coverage, ten years later, to include engine parts for Detroit Diesel®, Caterpillar®, and Navistar® engine applications. Since then, Interstate-McBee has become the go-to name for replacement fuel injection parts and engine components.
But as if it was not enough, the company also decided to venture into the manufacture of gaskets and gaskets kits in 1999. For years, it remained steadfast in its commitment to bringing only the most comprehensive product coverage in the market. Today, the company produces over 2,700 individual gaskets and assembles more than 3,000 gasket kits for Cummins®, Caterpillar®, Navistar®, and Detroit Diesel® engine applications.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Interstate-McBee takes pride in all its ISO 9001:2015-certified facilities, where all its production takes place. It has regional warehouses in Texas, Florida, and California, with over 95,000 products in stock. It serves a wide base of customers in the United States and in over 90 countries all around the globe.
Interstate-McBee Parts
Interstate-McBee has invested a great deal of engineering and capital resources in the development of its products. This is to ensure only the most comprehensive coverage—from fuel injection and diesel engine parts to gaskets and gasket kits—is offered to its customers. All Interstate-McBee parts are manufactured using only the best tools, equipment, and materials available to ensure the highest quality, efficiency, and performance.
Fuel Injection Parts
Lying at the very heart of the diesel engine, the fuel injection system works by pressurizing, injecting, and forcing the fuel into the air, which has been compressed to high pressure in the combustion chamber. This system is composed of many different components, all crucial to its overall performance. These components include the fuel injection pump, high-pressure pipe, injection nozzle, feed pump, and fuel filter.
The diesel fuel injection system has four main functions. One, to feed fuel; two, to adjust fuel quantity; three, to adjust the injection timing; and four, to atomize the fuel. The components mentioned above ensure all these crucial functions are carried out efficiently. When any of these goes bad, then brand-new high-quality fuel injection parts are necessary to restore it to its like-new condition.
Interstate-McBee’s broad range of fuel injection parts is explicitly designed for Class 5 to 8 trucks and various off-highway and construction applications that are powered by Caterpillar®, Cummins®, Detroit Diesel®, and Navistar® engines. The brand has over 20,000 part numbers in stock and over 75,000 part numbers available for on-highway vehicle applications. Whether you need a new spray tip, fuel pump, o-ring, valve, nozzle, plunger, nut, or pin for your fuel injector, Interstate-McBee has got you covered.
How to know if any of your fuel injection parts need replacement? Here are a few tell-tale signs of a bad fuel injector: the engine misfires, idling gets rough, lousy gas mileage, the RPM needle starts to dance, and your vehicle won’t start. However, since there are other issues related to these symptoms, it pays to check first if it’s indeed a failing fuel injector that is responsible for any of these problems.
Diesel Engine Parts
If the fuel injection system lies at the heart of the engine, it is the engine that works as the heart of heavy duty trucks and other vehicles. Its main function is to convert the chemical energy that’s stored in the fuel into mechanical energy, which can be used to power large trucks, tractors, and more. It is composed of many different diesel engine parts, which are all crucial to its overall performance.
Interstate-McBee has got the broadest coverage of OE and aftermarket diesel engine parts for Caterpillar®, Cummins®, Detroit Diesel®, and Navistar® engine applications. Some of the most popular parts included in its catalog are crankshaft seals, cylinder head components, blowers, engine bearings and bushings, camshafts, valve train components, oil pumps, water pumps, oil coolers, turbochargers, and engine kits. The brand’s product offerings vary per engine series, so it is highly recommended that you check your engine specifications before purchasing.
Here’s to give you an idea of which engine applications are covered by Interstate-McBee:
- Detroit Diesel® - 53, 71, 92, 149, 40, 50, 60 Series Engines
- Cummins® - B, C, L, M, KT, NT, VT, I-QSB, I-QSC, I-QSL, I-QSX, QSK plus spark-ignited applications
- Caterpillar® - 3100, 3200, 3300, 3400, 3500, C7, C9, C12, C15 plus D and G spark-ignited applications
- Navistar® - DT360, DT408, DT466, DT466E, DT530, DT570
So, how will you know if any of your diesel engine parts are failing? There are signs indicating your engine is going bad, including illuminating check engine light, loss of power, decreased gas mileage, annoying noises, engine stalling, odd odors, and rough running engine. When you notice any of these signs, take action immediately to know if which of the engine components need replacing.
Gaskets and Gasket Kits
For more than 15 years, Interstate-McBee has been producing gaskets and gasket kits for diesel engines, including Cummins®, Navistar®, Waukesha®, Caterpillar®, and Detroit Diesel® applications. During the manufacturing process, it uses the correct material for the specific engine application to ensure the gasket delivers a precise fit and functionality. Each material is selected based on the following criteria: pressure, contact with a variety of fluids and surfaces, and temperature variations.
All Interstate-McBee gaskets are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2008- and Design-certified facility to ensure each product meets the highest quality standards. Each year, millions of gaskets are produced by the brand to cater to its customers worldwide. And the majority of which are produced in-house.
For a complete installation, the gasket kits are much better options as they already come pre-packed in subassemblies and by function. And for those who plan to buy in bulk, Interstate-McBee can custom pack and supply more than 4,000 kits for same-day shipping.
