VELVAC part description

Item Overview:

  • Each of Velvac's new backup alarms is encapsulated in epoxy, to protect the alarm from the job site environment, and allowing for steam cleaning and pressure washing.
  • The reduced epoxy design provides the durability needed in a back-up alarm, while the thinner coat of epoxy aids in the dissipation of heat, keeping the alarm cooler and extending its life.
  • A reverse polarity system protects each alarm in the event of lead reversal.
  • Alarm housings are made of high impact, glass filled nylon to meet the high temperature requirements of SAE J994 and also UL requirements for flame tests, while providing the durability needed in harsh environments.
  • Each speaker style back-up alarm features the 3.25≈ industry standard bolt mounting pattern, and either bottom or side mounting. This mounting pattern, along with the compact design, allows for easy replacement and installation, even in the tightest of spaces.
  • Manufactured with a Polyethylenimine (PEI) speaker cone, the speaker style alarms are designed to meet the rigorous SAE temperature requirements of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius.
  • Since the number one failure point in speakers is the speaker wires, Velvac's alarms use multi-stranded wire for longer speaker life.
